Check Mate

I have been a member of the North Queensland Potters Society for just under a two years, making vessels, bowls and lately, chess sets. Making the pieces really let me tap into my graphic mind, carving small bits of clay into a unique take on the recognisable king, queen and all the other pieces.

I show cased my first chess set at Umbrella Studio’s annual members exhibtion. It was my first time exhibiting a ceramic piece and to my surprise it sold within the first 15 minutes of the opening night starting!
